Adding Deluxe or Protected Registration to Your Domains

If you want to update the registration type for domains you already own, you can apply Deluxe or Protected Registration to them.

NOTE: These services are not available for all domain names. For a list of domain names that cannot use this service, see What is Protected Registration?

To Add Deluxe or Protected Registration to Domains

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. In the My Products section, click Manage Domains.
3. Select the domains(s) for which you want to upgrade the type of registration.
4. Click Upgrade.
5. Select one of the following:

   Add Deluxe Registration
   Includes private and business registration, which lists your business information in the Whois database and keeps your personal information private.

   Add Protected Registration
   Includes Domain Ownership Protection, Private Registration, and Business Registration, which keeps your domain locked and secured, lists your business information in the Whois database, and keeps your personal information private.

6. Click Next.
7. Select one of the following:

   Use Existing Private Registration Account
   If you already have an account with Domains By Proxy, enter your User ID and Password for the account.

   Create a new Private Registration Account
   If you do not have an account, we create a Domains By Proxy account for you. We send the user name and password in an email message after creating your account.

8. If you agree to the Domain Name Proxy Agreement, select I have read the Domain Name Proxy Agreement.
9. Click Next.
10. Continue through the checkout process.

How it works

• Simply apply Domain Ownership Protection to your domain name.
• Once applied, if your name expires without your renewal, the domain will be placed on inactive protected status for up to 12 months.
• You can rescue the domain while on inactive, protected status for the cost of the renewal.
• Domain Ownership Protection is not available for some domain names.
